In Colossians, Paul takes up the Old Testament call for Heart Circumcision and shows it's New Covenant fulfillment; encouraging us all in our battle against remaining sin.

Deuteronomy 10:12-11:1,30:6

  • How is this tied in with Christ as the second Adam?
  • How does this impact a person's life?

Jesus Rose from the Dead?... Are You Serious??... Yes!!!

How can we know... for a fact... that Jesus really did rise? And why is that great news and possibly unsettling?

Colossians: Jesus, Image of the Invisible God

If you asked Paul to summarize his whole life in one word it would be Jesus. He would summarize his life by naming another person. This message from Colossians will explain why.

Hebrews 1:1-4
Colossians 1:12-18
Philippians 3:8,2:6
1 John 1:18

John 1:1,8:57-58,10:30,5:18,12:45,14:9,1:14,1:18

Sermon discussion topics for parents to use with their children:
  • What one word would Paul use to summarize his life and more?
  • How has humankind attempted to know the invisible God?
  • Why have those attempts failed?
  • What are the various ways God has revealed Himself to us?
  • Why is Jesus the ultimate way?
  • What does it mean that He is the image of God?
  • Why does this make His rescue mission so amazing?
  • What one word can summarize your life?

Acts: O Theophilus...

Who wrote the book of Acts and to whom was it written? History says it was written by Luke, but we don't know for sure. It was surely an eyewitness account because of the first-person style. It is formally called The Acts of the Apostles, but it really should be The Acts of Jesus, Part II!

Sermon discussion questions for parents to use with their children:
  • What is the historical evidence for the resurrection?
  • Why were the actions of Christ's enemies actually helpful in proving His resurrection?
  • What is the significance of the actions and convictions of the apostles after the resurrection?
  • What is the significance of the resurrection for us today and in the future?

Hebrews: Faith Is...

Those who trust God have suffered immensely in the past. Hebrews tells us they suffered in faith. Would we be willing to do this when the true moment arrived? This is a searching question for all of us to answer. Jesus said it is our calling to be willing to suffer and if need be to lay down our lives for Him. But would we have a strong enough faith to do it? How can we grow such a faith? These are matters we will be studying as we conclude the Faith chapter.
