Facing Fear

While we would face death with anxiety and fear, Jesus sees glory. Where we would be self-concerned, Jesus compassionately prepares His disciples for His departure. As we would turn in on our own mourning, Jesus turns His disciples towards a new commandment: loving one another.

Our Final Victory

There is no denying that Jesus died. But His death was not final! It isn't the end of the story. Ultimately He has power over death. Death is dead! And we can share in celebrating this victory.

Acts: The Gospel Divides and Unites

The gospel divides and unites. It divides believers from unbelievers, and at times this can be awkward and even painful. But, it also unites. It unites people from different backgrounds, ages, races, educational levels, sexes, even former enemies... and brings them into closeness like family. Life in the midst of all of this has its tensions. Living in that tension and being used of God in the midst of it will be much of our discussion in Acts.

Justice Will Prevail

Christians often have a deep set fear of being persecuted for their faith. However the level of that perceived persecution varies greatly. Jesus told us persecution is definitely coming but not to fear it! We've read the end of the book and already know who wins!

The Gospel in the Old Testament: Being Related to the God Who Saves

If you are the infinite, holy, great, immense, loving God... how do you reveal this to mere mortals. The answer is progressively, over time, and dramatically at times.
