Acts: Finding Order in Chaos

Ever been in a situation where things seem out of control? Where God doesn't seem to be in charge anymore? Where the frustrations, disappointments, delays are dismaying? Leading to questions like: Why God? Don't you love me anymore? Is following God worth it? The Apostle Paul was found in a situation in Acts where such questions could come to press in. We will look at how he responds to such a situation.

Acts: What is Demon Possession?

In Acts 19 severe spiritual battle breaks out, to the point that Jewish exorcists are physically attacked by a demon possessed man. What are we to make of all this? Was demon possession only in the past? Why was it so prevalent then but doesn't seem to be today? Can people be demon possessed today? Can Christians be? How can a person be delivered? Is this stuff still going on today? We will seek to tackle these issues through our study of the Bible.

Mark: Not My Will... Yours (Part II)

In order to say "Not My will but Yours" in this emotional passage from Mark, Jesus had to act in a radical obedience and trust. In this we should be moved to love Him and to imitate Him.

2 Corinthians 12:1-10
John 6:38,4:34,10:17-18
Philippians 2:8
Job 1:20-22,2:9-10
1 John 4:9-10
Romans 8:31-32

Sermon discussion topics for parents to use with their children:
  • What does this text show us about Jesus' obedience?
  • What can we learn from His example?
  • What does it show about His trust?
  • What can we learn from His example in this, as well?
  • Have you ever been faced with trusting God when you didn't understand what He was doing?

2 Corinthians: Why Does God Let Trials Happen to Us?

We all face trials, difficulties, painful experiences in life. God is in control... but why does He let these things happen? We will look at two very important reasons: first, God is using these events to let you experience Him in new and closer ways, and secondly, He is going to use you to comfort and encourage others. We will begin our study of the amazing book of 2 Corinthians. If that phrase doesn't mean anything to you, then join us to experience this book in a fresh way and see why it is truly amazing!!
